ANKENY KIWANIS CLUB
Ankeny, Iowa
designated "Distinguished Chapter" by Kiwanis International
"Serving the children of the Ankeny area."
Sack Sunday again was a great success as members of AKC and Ankeny Key Club accpeted donations to the Emergency Food Pantry on Sunday, Novemeber 20th. Pictured are AKC members Bob Mitchell and Jan Burch with some of the donations. Many thanks to the the Ankeny Key Club and AKC members who particpated in the collection as well as to Hy-Vee and Dahls stores.
"Operation Underwear" is a community-wide Kiwanis Club of Ankeny initiative, created in response to Ankeny Schools nurses and The Ankeny Klothing Exchange citing an ongoing need for new packages of children's underwear and socks. Public collection bins are housed at the Kirkendall Public Library and Ankeny Community Education Office (Neveln Resource Center). In addition to socks and underwear, nurses welcome donations of children's sweatpants in neutral colors. (more)
